We’ve taken a few calls recently from existing long leaseholders who believe that they are being incorrectly charged for Ground Rent.
However, whilst the law has changed, and ground rents will in future not be able to be demanded, this only relates to new long leasehold interests and is not retrospective.
The new law started on 30 June 2022.
