What is Planning Permission?

All developments and changes of use requiring planning permission are controlled in England and Wales by Local Planning Authorities (LPAs), within local Councils.  LPAs will consider whether your proposal for development or alteration meets with national planning policy and local policy set out in their “Local Plan” for the area. If the proposed development is considered to be acceptable by the LPA, permission is likely to be granted.
