Planning Applications
From today, Wednesday 17 January 2018, there will be an increase of 20% to all existing fees for planning applications, as signposted in the recent Housing White Paper. It was expected to come into effect last summer but has been delayed because the necessary legislation was not prepared in time.
The House of Lords approved the regulations that introduce the fee increase as well as other changes to the fees regime in December. Following consultation, every local planning authority in England agreed to plough the extra money received into planning department resources (although it is not clear how this will be monitored).
