Reminder about Private Pumping Stations
From 1 October 2016 all eligible private pumping stations will transfer to your utility company.
This means from this date the water/sewerage company will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of the stations, including the running costs. BUT only if you have told them!
And your private pumping station must meet the following adoption criteria:
- Be in service prior to 1 July 2011
- Be connected to the main sewerage network (either foul or surface water)
- And, either serve more than one property, or, sit outside the curtilage (similar to boundary) of the property it serves
If you think your pumping station meets the criteria, and you have not already done so, contact your local utility company to register.
